Solon Morning Session #1 Julia Arredondo

Solon Morning Session #1 was a non-denominational, sonic offering to the space that is the South Solon Meeting House. The South Solon Meeting House is a very special building that houses an interior completely covered in fresco paintings by artists affiliated with the Skowhegan School of Painting. Approaching this event as a continuation of the artistic history of the space, Solon Morning Session #1 aimed to activate this conversation via community gathering and live music.

Solon Morning Session #1 featured performances by JHNHRLW, The Sppokfish and Revenge Body.

Solon Morning Session #1, although hosted in an unheated space at the onset of winter, welcomed 30 guests with warm beverages and live music. In efforts to engage a wider Mid-Maine region demographic, this event was hosted in Solon, Maine yet still affiliated with my Residential Fellowship at the Lunder Institute for American Art.

Special thanks to the Colby Museum of Art for funding the event so that all performers were paid fair compensation.
