SOY DE AQUI

Soy de Aquí, is an evocative exhibition that showcases the work of eight artists, all with deep-rooted connections to the Lone Star State. Each artist, through their unique lens and creative expression, presents a visual representation of identity, reflecting the diverse and rich tapestry that makes up the Texan populace. The artworks on display range from vibrant paintings and intricate sculptures to installations, each piece telling a personal story while also echoing the collective narrative of identity in Texas.” - curators Joshua Duttweiler & Alexandria Canchola

The artists, through their work, challenge the status quo, question the prevailing narratives, and provoke a dialogue about the importance of recognizing and celebrating all identities. This exhibition is a testament to the resilience and resistance of these artists, and their commitment to asserting their identity in the face of adversity. Soy de Aqui invites you to engage, reflect, and be part of this important conversation about identity, representation, and the politics of recognition in Texas.
