Works on paper Julia Arredondo

I have a long history of creating works on paper. For over a decade, I’ve explored printmaking as small-scale manufacturing with the production of prints, paper goods and zines. Recently I’ve been indulging in the production of original works on paper - a practice that involves less mechanical ritual and more contemplation. Originally, I fell in love with paper as a medium while growing up in my Mom’s office as she put in overtime hours at the local Chamber of Commerce. Paper was accessible to me, its potential to be transformed was endless.

Works on paper are easy to transport, and as a transient artist - this ability to efficiently move a body of work cross-country is a strength. This collection of smaller works on paper have traveled with me from city to city, informing the conversation of my evolving practice wherever they go.
